Nobel Psychological Wellness Centre – Guiding You to Better Mental Well-Being

At Nobel Psychological Wellness Centre, we believe that mental well-being is just as important as physical health. Life comes with its ups and downs, and if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling with your emotions, you don’t have to go through it alone. As we face life’s challenges, it is not unusual for us to become emotionally disturbed. Feeling distressed, upset, or demoralised is not a sign of personal weakness, excessive emotion or poor constitution.

Our team of dedicated psychiatrists is here to support you every step of the way.

We offer a comprehensive range of mental health services for Adults, Children, and the Elderly - these include diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for conditions like anxiety, depression, stress, and more. Our approach is centered on understanding your unique needs, offering personalised care in a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space.

FAQs: What to Expect During Your Visit to a Psychiatrist

What happens during my first visit to a psychiatrist?

Your first session, lasting 30 to 60 minutes, will include:

  • Your psychiatrist will take a comprehensive medical and psychological history.
  • A mental state and physical examination may be conducted to assess your overall well-being.
  • The session is conducted in a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment.
  • Your psychiatrist will listen to your concerns and explore any challenges you may be facing.
  • A diagnosis will be explained clearly, followed by a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
I am feeling nervous, can I bring a family member or a friend?

It is completely normal! Many people feel apprehensive before their first appointment. If it helps, you can bring a trusted friend or family member for support.

Is seeing a psychiatrist different from seeing a regular doctor?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specialises in mental health. Just like any other doctor, they assess symptoms, provide diagnoses, and recommend treatment plans. The difference is that they focus on emotional and psychological well-being.

Will my visit be confidential?

Absolutely. At Nobel Psychological Wellness Centre, we prioritize strict confidentiality, privacy, and discretion. Your personal information and discussions remain private, always.

Is seeking psychiatric help a sign of weakness?

Not at all! Seeking help for your mental health is a sign of strength. Life’s challenges can affect anyone, and reaching out for professional support is a positive step toward healing and well-being.

How can a psychiatrist help me?

A psychiatrist can help by:

  • Understanding your concerns through careful evaluation.
  • Providing therapy or counseling to address emotional struggles.
  • Prescribing medications if necessary to manage symptoms effectively.
  • Offering strategies and lifestyle adjustments to improve your overall mental wellness.
Can I Claim MediSave?

Mental health therapy and counselling are typically provided in an outpatient setting, allowing patients to receive care while continuing their daily activities. Subsidies are available for those seeking treatment at public healthcare institutions.

Patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and other mental health conditions can withdraw up to $500 per year from MediSave to help cover outpatient treatment costs. Additionally, patients aged 60 and above may withdraw an extra $200 per year under the Flexi-MediSave scheme.
